Thanks to the incredible support from animal lovers like you, last week the Welsh Government announced it will ban greyhound racing in Wales. The first UK nation to do so. This is a huge step towards stopping preventable injury and death for thousands of greyhounds.

Greyhound racing is inherently dangerous for the dogs, running at speed around oval tracks causes significant injury to many dogs, and in some cases, death. No dog should suffer, become injured or lose their life for sport.

The introduction of a ban is wonderful news for these beautiful dogs, we hope it will lead the way for other UK nations to follow suit.  There will be a phased approach to the ban to ensure and protect the welfare of the dogs currently within the industry.

We will continue to support the #CutTheChase coalition in calling for a ban across the UK.
