Bear

Meet Bear,

Tiny black Bear found his way to Freshfields after he’d been straying on the streets for some time.  He’d been living near a supermarket car park.  This friendly fellow however was somewhat on the thin side and was not looking to great.  This was when a concerned animal lover took Bear to a vet’s and then subsequently Bear found his way to Freshfields.

After living rough for 11-12 years Bear came to us quite suspicious of us, but also very hungry.

After a quick course of antibitoics and lots of TLC from the staff and volunteers at Freshfields this tinchy chap is fighting fit and in need of cuddles and love.

Although a little weary when he meets new people tiny black Bear is superfriendly and loves nothing more than climbing into a lap and purring his unique purr which is very quiet and not disimilar to a bird cooing.

Living rough for such a long time Bear is still on edge with sudden noises and background noise, but when it is nice and quiet and Bear is confident he can relax, he melts into your lap like dark chocolate, purring and cooing with utter contentment that only an older street cat does after living for so long on the streets sleeping with one eye open but then finding themselves safe, warm and cared for.

If you think you would like to offer Bear a loving home, you can complete the cat application form and send it to the cattery at cattery@freshfields.org.uk
