Zak
12 Mar, 2025

Meet Zak,

This handsome chunk came to us through no fault of his own after his owner passed away and he and his brother began toileting on the floor, unfortunately his owners partner didn’t want to deal with the mess and so returned them to the rescue after they were adopted from us 14 years ago.

Zak is a timid but very affectionate boy who adores attention, especially being groomed and wiped with a damp cloth as he struggles to clean himself due to his age and size.

Zak came to us with his brother Zeb, sadly Zeb came to us very skinny and Zak here came to us seriously obese. Both boys were also suffering fur loss from a flea infestation. Due to the fact it was obvious that Zak was eating both his and his brothers food and after monitoring they did not seem bonded we have decided to separate them for their own good so their health can be monitored more closely.

Zak is currently suffering from some unhealthy side affects of his weight so is not available for adoption quite yet, though we would be happy to start accepting applications for him now so that he has a home waiting for him when he is ready.

Any applicants must be ready to stick to a very strict diet with Zak until he is at his ideal weight. Once he has reached this he will be able to be fed normal cat food in moderation according to his size.

If you think you would like to offer Zak a loving retirement home, you can complete the cat application form and send it to the cattery at cattery@freshfields.org.uk
